Pictures, Pictures, Pictures!
Our principal, Mrs. Morhous, has put together some photo mini-websites so that everyone can get the flavor of some of the special events in our community.
Latino Night 2008 – Tuesday, 14 October
Burns Park’s Spanish language teacher, Sra. Eileen Alfonso, organized our first annual potluck dinner for the school’s Latino and Spanish-speaking community. More than forty parents and children attended, as did BP teachers, PTO officers, BP Foreign Language Initiative board members, and representatives of the school district. The company was warm, and the food was wonderful. A very good time was had by all, and Sra. Alfonso is looking forward to making this an annual tradition at Burns Park.

Halloween 2008
One of the special traditions at Burns Park is the annual costume parade around the park before kids go into their class parties. Kids and parents have a great time, and long-time residents of the neighborhood always look forward to it. Then children return to their classrooms, where teachers and parent volunteers organize fun activities for the kids. A costume drive before Halloween ensures that everyone can participate. Here is a sampling of pictures from some of the class parties this year.

Our thanks to Mrs. Morhous for these pictures and her budding efforts at web site design!
