Bell schedule changes

The AAPS website reports that the bell schedule has changed slightly, with the school day now ending six minutes later than last year:

• School day: 8:48am – 3:42pm

The kindergarten schedule has also changed accordingly:

• Morning – 8:48am – 11:51pm
• Afternoon – 12:39pm – 3:42pm

Half-days follow the kindergarten schedule.

Calendar set

In contrast to previous years, the school calendar has been set for the next three years (because of the successful contract negotiations completed earlier this year). Some key dates:

SEPTEMBER

• Tuesday 5 First day for students. Full Day.

NOVEMBER

• Monday 6 No School for students.
• Wed-Fri 22-24 No School for students. Thanksgiving break.

DECEMBER

• Friday 22 Winter vacation begins at end of the day.

JANUARY

• Monday 8 School resumes.
• Monday 15 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. School is closed.

FEBRUARY

• Monday 19 No school for students.
• Friday 23 Mid-Winter vacation begins at the end of the day.

MARCH

• Monday 5 School resumes.
• Monday 12 No school for elementary students.

APRIL

• Thurs 5 Spring vacation begins at end of the day.
• Monday 16 School resumes.

MAY

• Monday 28 Memorial Day. School is closed.

JUNE

• Friday 15 End of second semester. Half day for students.
• Monday 18 Beginning of makeup days for any days above State-allowed limit of Emergency Closing days (if applicable only).
