PTO Notes - Week of September 22, 2008

School Announcements:

Fall Festival – Come to the flag pole area this Wednesday, September 24th from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. for Fall Festival! Bring a blanket, a picnic dinner and a dessert to share! The 5th graders will be selling drinks to raise money for their end of the year graduation activities, and the Pioneer High School Jazz Band will provide entertainment! This is a fun Burns Park tradition, so be sure to join us!

January PTO meeting – The January PTO meeting will be this Thursday, Jan. 15th. Our meeting will be preceded by a special presentation about our Bucketfillers program, starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium. The PTO meeting will follow immediately afterward. Science Olympiad – Science Olympiad Team Sign Up time is now!! If your child is in 2nd grade through 5th grade, you should have found the sign up sheet for Burns Park’s Science Olympiad Team in their backpack this past Friday (or today)! Please return completed sign up forms to the Burns Park office by Friday (Jan. 30th). We’d like to thank those parents who came forward to work as Event Supervisors this year to so that B.P. could participate in this year’s Science Olympiad. They are Meg Wallace, Abigail Hohner, and Mary Anne Purtill. If you haven’t received the sign up form, or need a new one, you can download it from the PTO website, here: http://www.burnsparkpto.org/node/203 I hope to see many of you and your children at our practice sessions!
